Support a Legacy of Learning and Love in the Central District

Since 1963, Community Day Center for Children, Inc. has been a trusted early learning center in the heart of Seattle’s Central District. Founded by Lula “Mama” Martin, CDCC was created as a safe, nurturing space where children ages one to five could grow, learn, and thrive—regardless of background or income.

Mama Martin was ahead of her time. Long before research confirmed the importance of early brain development, she knew that positive, engaging experiences in a child’s earliest years were essential. She believed in social justice, and she made it her life’s work to ensure all children had equitable access to high-quality early education.

Today, CDCC continues her legacy. We provide:

  • A loving and inclusive environment where children are treated like family
  • Learning experiences that support every child’s development
  • Responsive care that gives parents peace of mind
  • A staff deeply committed to helping young learners succeed

Your GiveBIG donation helps us continue this vital work—keeping care accessible, investing in our educators, and creating joyful, enriching experiences for the next generation.

Help us nurture the future—one child at a time.
