Mission

Bridge Disability Ministries honors the God-given dignity and giftedness of people with disabilities; therefore we build relationships to alleviate isolation and enrich our churches and communities.

Description

More than an organization, Bridge Disability Ministries is a community made up of people with disabilities, our friends, family, fellow church members, clergy, and other allies. Together, we envision a world in which people with disabilities have full access to community life and are valued as indispensable members of society. Through our programs, we work to build more accessible communities, end isolation among people with disabilities, and create a world in which each and every one of us can thrive.

OUR PROGRAMS

Guardianship - Dedicated exclusively to supporting adults with developmental disabilities, our guardianship agency advocates for and provides essential oversight in financial, medical, and employment matters (among others) to 43 adults with complex disabilities; many of whom may not have any one else to look after their best interest.

The Meyer Medical Equipment Center (MMEC) - Our MMEC refurbishes and sanitizes donated  medical and mobility equipment, such as walkers, wheelchairs, hospital beds, etc., and provides them to anyone in need on a donate-what-you-can basis. In 2023, we served over 2500 residents of King county and beyond.

Spiritual Connections - Our Spiritual Connections ministry, together with our faith community partners, provide welcoming spaces for every one to gather, connect and support one another.

JOIN OUR COMMUNITY

We value the contributions of each and every member of the Bridge family and invite anyone who wishes to be part of our community to get involved. Whether you would like to make a financial contribution, volunteer your time and talent, or simply provide the gift of your presence at a Bridge event, you will join the ranks of the volunteers, donors, and participants who make our work possible. Together, we will build connections, break down isolation, and make our wider community a more accessible and welcoming place.
