Help Us Carry Our Story Into 2024!
Your support is critical as the Bureau of Fearless Ideas nurtures the future writers and artists of Seattle!
It's an exciting day at the Bureau of Fearless Ideas, and we're reaching out to friends like you. We're facing some challenging times, with national drops in charitable giving and the squeeze from inflation, yet there's a silver lining. Our programs are thriving with an incredible 80% surge in after-school student enrollment and a library of 26 new student publications since the pandemic began!
We're inviting you to be a part of this creative journey. Your donation to BFI doesn't just support, it transforms. It helps turn aspirations into real-life achievements for Seattle's up-and-coming authors.
Invest in Seattle's future authors with a donation to BFI. Your generosity fuels free, vital programs that turn big dreams into big achievements.
Empower future authors. Support the stories yet to be told. Donate today and join their story.
The Greater Seattle Bureau of Fearless Ideas believes that the power of words, well-written and well-spoken, can open doors to important opportunities. Our writing and tutoring centers in Greenwood and Yesler Terrace prepare young people for a successful future by developing strong writing skills, championing diverse communication styles, and motivating young people to share their stories. All programs are free and open to all families.
BFI provides an educational advantage to students through writing-focused programs that support academic achievement, spark creativity, cultivate empathy, and build growth mindset-we call it fearlessness. The Bureau of Fearless Ideas (BFI) has two locations to serve students - Greenwood and Yesler Terrace. Both locations welcome students and families from all walks of life, and we focus our outreach on economically disadvantaged young people who risk academic failure due to socioeconomic or language barriers.
Programs include one-on-one after school tutoring, special writing workshops, class field trips, in-school writing projects in collaboration with classroom teachers, and publishing opportunities for Seattle students to improve their ability to communicate effectively in writing and to help nurture our next generation of writers. Integral to our process is the participation of dozens of trained, caring adult volunteers, and a sense of wonder and fun.
