Your support today will make a difference in young people's lives.
Northwind Art's GiveBIG campaign focuses this spring on our creative youth programming and our scholarship fund, which ensure that kids have access to the arts.
One example: The Bunker, a free weekly class for teens that is a safe, fun space for art and learning. Professional artists from our community are the hosts and guides.
Northwind Art also serves youth through its summer art camps. Your gift helps ensure that the youth in our community have access — in summertime and year round — to arts learning at little or no cost to families who need assistance.
Our base goal: $12,000
Jefferson County, being a rural locale, is a place where fun, safe and free youth activities can be tough to find. Northwind Art's Bunker program has been a lifeline for young people who live in the Port Townsend area, providing engaging arts education with some of the best teaching artists in our region. These expert educators create activities that bring teens to the art school week after week. It is only with your support that Northwind Art can continue offering this vital space for teens.
In addition to The Bunker, Northwind Art School offers scholarships to students of all ages, to encourage participation when finances would have been a barrier. Scholarships make our art classes accessible to a broader range of students, making our arts community vibrant, diverse and joyful!
Three Reasons Why Free and Reduced Art Classes are Important
• Art classes are accessible to a broader range of people
• Art helps students find community with one another
• Engaging in a variety of art forms has a positive impact on mental and physical health
