Who We Are

FamilyWorks serves families in North Seattle who have been marginalized by food, economic, and racial injustice. We help families meet their immediate needs while building the stability they deserve to care for their children and move toward their goals. 

Through our Food Access and Supportive Family Programs, we provide meaningful and culturally responsive services to more than 8,200 households each year. At FamilyWorks, families access fresh, culturally familiar food, connect to resources and public benefits, and participate in programs that support children’s healthy development, including playgroups, parenting support, youth activities, and community gatherings. 

Since 1995, FamilyWorks has worked in equal partnership with families to co-create programs that truly make a difference in families’ lives, centering their voices, strengths, and lived experience.

• Last year alone, FamilyWorks saw a nearly 40% increase in households seeking our services, as more families are feeling the strain of rising costs and federal cuts to social services.
• In our recent participant survey, 99% of visitors to our Food Access Programs agreed that receiving food from FamilyWorks helped them afford basic needs items.
